Our Beginning
OUR METHOD
CURRICULUM
Amber Ales founded Ales Education Center in 2023 after being a classroom teacher for 10 years. Beginning in 2019, she immediately began to see widespread academic disruptions, due to online learning and the pandemic. Teachers and young learners were met with formidable challenges. Amber found inspiration in the task of bridging learning gaps and helping every learner find reading and writing success. Starting Ales Education Center was one way that she could reach the academic needs of all students, using one-on-one intensive reading and writing interventions.
INDIVIDUALIZED- The instruction is planned to meet the needs of EACH individual learner.
MULTISENSORY- Using all the learning pathways: seeing, hearing, feeling, and awareness of motion.
A COGNITIVE APPROACH- Students are guided to understand the reasons for what they are learning rather than relying on only memory.
To yield unparalleled results, a combination of Orton-Gillingham Programs and Heggerty Phonics are used for intervention support. Students will learn techniques in Phonics/Decoding, Fluency Training, Reading Comprehension, Visualizing/Verbalizing and Writing/Grammar.
